A relatively recent healthcare trend has emerged that has reduced the cost of doctor visits without compromising care: telemedicine. You can now take care of easy things like last minute prescription refills, birth control appointments, STD testing and simple urgent care visits for cold/flu from the privacy of your own home, at a low cost! PlushCare is a platform that allows you to talk to a doctor on your computer or smartphone. The doctors are able to diagnose, treat and prescribe medication for most illnesses and infections. Special Notice: Monterey Peninsula College has reduced the Telehealth copay to $0 – Telehealth visits are now FREE of cost to you! To help prevent the spread of infection and improve access to care, we strongly encourage everyone to utilize PlushCare (Telehealth)*.
We encourage you to use PlushCare to address non-acute medical conditions such as Ear Infections, Kidney Infections, Pink Eye, Rashes/Dermatitis and more. This will also help limit your exposure from unnecessary visits to doctor’s offices or emergency departments.
PlushCare and COVID-19
- PlushCare physicians are ready to assess patients and provide members with direction if they need to be tested.
- PlushCare will work with members to contact their local health department so they can get tested, as the health departments are the ones handling the testing if there is a need.
