Articulation is the formal process through which agreements are developed between institutions allowing courses taken at one institution to be accepted in lieu of course requirements at another institution.  By successfully completing articulated course at MPC you can be assured that your courses will fulfill requirements at transfer institutions with which they are articulated.

Articulation agreements may take the form of course-to-course articulation, lower division major preparation, and general education requirements.  Courses may also be approved for transfer as elective units.

Monterey Peninsula College participates in the statewide articulation process. In California, Project ASSIST keeps tract of all existing articulation between California community colleges and the universities of the CSU and UC systems.  By visiting the ASSIST website you can view the most current information regarding how MPC courses articulate with courses at UC and CSU institutions, view lower division program requirements, and see which MPC courses fulfill CSU-GE Breadth and Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) requirements.  Visit the ASSIST website to view current articulation for MPC courses.

It is very important to meet with a counselor to ensure that the courses you plan to take are the most appropriate for the major and college or university to which you plan to transfer.  For more information visit the Counseling Department website.  To make an appointment with a counselor, call 831-646-4020 or visit the Counseling Office located in the Student Services Building.

For information regarding transfer to California or out-of-state institutions, both public and private, visit the Career/Transfer Resource Center website, go to the Center located in the Student Services Building, or call 831-645-1336.
