Monterey Peninsula College’s online courses offer the perfect opportunity for students to complete coursework while providing options for those whose work, travel, or family commitments demand increased flexibility.  MPC’s online courses can be a great way to get the classes you need—whether you’re looking to develop new skills or complete degree or certificate requirements.

Get Ready for Your Online Classes

1. Activate your Lobo Apps account so that you can access your online courses (through Canvas), your MPC Gmail account, online Library materials, and other campus resources.
    
2. Complete the MPC Online Student Orientation (requires Lobo Apps access), learn how to use Canvas and how to be successful in online courses and earn a digital badge declaring you “Online Ready!”
    
3. Locate the “Student Services Hub” in Canvas to access online Library Resources, Counseling, Tutoring, Wellness Resources, and other resources.
    
4. Contact the MPC Online Help Desk if you need assistance:
   1. Submit a help request to the MPC Online Help Desk for support M-F 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
   2. Contact Canvas Student Support provided by Instructure (Canvas)

Get the Resources You Need for Online Classes

1. Make sure you have access to a computer and Internet access. The MPC Library can check out chromebooks for the semester and provide recommendations for free or low-cost Internet access. Email library@mpc.edu or call (831) 646-4095 for information.
    
2. Order your textbooks and other course materials from the MPC Bookstore (or elsewhere online) so you are ready for class on your first day.
    
3. Contact the MPC Library for information about course reserves and textbooks available for short-term or long-term checkout.
