MESA Program
MESA is a community of learners at Monterey Peninsula College with a very specialized focus in the STEM fields to help students become successful and competitive in their program area of focus.
At its core, the MESA California Community College Programs (MCCP) is a network that supports underserved and underrepresented students to successfully transfer to four-year universities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) majors that require Calculus. You can join a cohort of students on a similar path to you for support and motivation.
Founded in 1970, the MESA program serves pre-college, community college, and university students at over 100 sites throughout California that serves almost 25,000 throughout California each year. MESA’s goal is to develop academic and leadership skills, raise educational expectations, and instill confidence in California’s students historically underrepresented in engineering, physical science, or other math-based fields, in order to increase the number of African American, Latino American and Native Americans graduates from a four-year university.
