  1. How do I apply for an on-campus job?
    • Must be enrolled in 6 units or more at MPC
    • Contact MPC Financial Aid Office to fill out the financial aid application and make sure your financial aid file is complete
    • Fill out FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov
    • Request Federal Work Study HERE

      If you don’t qualify for financial aid you still can apply for on-campus jobs. However, they are limited.

  2. How do I apply for an off-campus job?
  3. What is Federal Work Study (FWS)?
    • Federal Work Study is a federally funded program. You must qualify for financial aid to apply for Federal Work Study.

       

  4. What kinds of jobs are available for work-study students?
    • Library technician, tutoring, office assistant, teacher’s aide, fitness assistant, and many other positions on-campus at MPC.

       

  5. What is the hourly wage to work on campus?
    • California minimum wage and up.

       

  6. When do I get paid?
    • Monthly on the 10th after 2:00pm.

       

  7. Where do I pick up my work-study check?
    • Your check will be mailed to you on the 10th of every month. An email will be sent to you if you’re receiving a check in the mail.

       

  8. How many units do I have to enroll in at MPC to apply for an FWS on-campus job?
    • Minimum of 3 units for summer and 6 units for spring or fall.

       

  9. How many units do I have to enroll in at MPC to apply for an off-campus job?
    • None

       

  10. How many jobs off campus can I apply for at a time?
    • You can apply for as many as you want
