The 2014 & 2015 SSS Workshops are now online!
The SSS self-paced workshops are designed for students on the go. Instead of leaving class or work in order to attend an On-site Workshop, you may access these workshops at any time and from anywhere: school, home, or café.
The PDFs are compatible with Adobe Reader Version XI (and later) and Adobe Acrobat 6 (and later) versions. Most computers on the MPC campus are equipped with these versions. If you are unable to enter and save data in any fillable-PDF version, use the backup non-fillable version provided (for printing and hard copy only.) Each document is password-protected for SSS students only; the password will be delivered to your MPC email address. After you open any fillable PDF, you must download and save it to your computer, and then your data can be saved. If you cannot open a file or you lose your password, contact SSS Instructional Specialist Rustin Beam at rbeam@mpc.edu for assistance.
2014 WORKSHOP: Financial Literacy--Budgeting & Savings
This Financial Literacy: Budgeting & Savings workshop will take approximately 1 hour to complete. Instructions are provided in the PDF itself (and remember to download and save the PDF before you begin to enter data.) Successful completion of this workshop will fulfill a student’s SSS obligation of (1) financial literacy workshop due at the start of the TRiO SSS Spring 2015 Check-In meeting. To begin, select the version that is compatible with your software configuration:

2015 WORKSHOP: TRiO's Template for Requesting a Recommendation
Recommendations and references take on a new level of importance starting in college. Applying for a scholarship? An internship? A transfer university (and later, a graduate program)? A job you dream of? If any of these is the case, then it's time for you to start collecting your letters of recommendation or "reference." There are bad ways to do this, and good ways to do this. TRiO's sample reference and tutorial will show you how to request a letter of recommendation in just 2 pages. To access, simply follow the link below. If you have any questions, you are welcome to visit the TRiO Learning Center for a consultation. Because our center can get very busy, we invite you to schedule an appointment in advance. Please contact Kacey Giammanco at kgiammanco@mpc.edu or Rustin Beam at rbeam@mpc.edu to request an appointment.
