Home MenuSummer Program
The program hosts a residential summer academy housed on the beautiful campus of the University of California, Santa Cruz. Participants are able to strengthen their academic and social skills.
Academic Component
An intensive summer academy where students take courses in Communications, Marine Science, Mathematics, and Personal Development. Students will attend classes and laboratory workshops throughout the day. We expect that each student will perform to the best of his/her ability in all academic areas.
Workshops
These presentations will vary from academic subjects, college/career preparation, and personal development.
Fieldtrips
Events off-campus usually take place on the weekends. These experiences are designed to supplement the academic curriculum and enhance each student's overall program experience. Fieldtrips include, but are not limited to: Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute (MBARI), Point Lobos State Reserve, High Ropes Course, Kayaking, San Francisco Pier 39, Exploratorium, and Cal Academy of Science.
USDA Summer Food Services Program (SFSP) - Our program participates in this program to subsidize the cost of meals provided to each participant during the summer program.
