The library offers research help and information literacy instruction assistance to faculty, students, staff, and community users. Please call the reference desk at (831) 646.4262 or email library@mpc.edu for more information.

Borrowing Privileges

MPC library cards can be obtained at the Circulation Desk or you can apply for one online using this form.

An MPC Library Card allows the check out of library materials such as books (1 semester check out), DVDs, and CDs (1 week check out). You can also access the library’s online research databases and e-books from on or off-campus by logging in with your Lobo account.

Course Reserves
Instructors can place materials on reserve for students to check out for a limited time period. These materials are stored at the Circulation Desk and are organized by instructor’s name. To place an item on reserve, fill out the Reserves Form and email it to  Katya Haskin. For more information see the course reserve brochure

Library Instruction
Bring your classes to the library for customized sessions taught by a librarian, focusing on your specific research assignment. Each session typically includes a short lecture, demonstrations, research materials and hands-on time in the Library Classroom.

Contact Bill Easton, the Instruction Librarian, or fill out the request form for a library instruction session. Requests should be made at least two weeks in advance.
 
Research Guides: online guides provide information about a certain topic, subject, or class.  These guides include library materials, images, videos, and websites prepared by the MPC librarians. If you would like a librarian to produce one for your class, or on a specific topic contact Bill Easton, the Instruction Librarian.

Interlibrary Loan
If the library does not have a book or article you need, the library may be able to get the item from another library for you. Contact the reference desk to request an item (831.646.4262)

Requesting New Material
Please fill-out the Library Materials Purchase Request form if you would like the item be added to our collection. Requests are reviewed weekly.
