Monterey Peninsula College offers multiple tutoring and academic support options for students available online and in-person at the Marina Education Center and on MPC's Monterey campus.  Free tutoring is available for most courses and subjects offered at MPC. Our Learning Centers also offer a variety of additional resources to students including study skill sessions and workshops.

Tutoring and Academic Success Center (TASC) in Marina - Lobo Hub (MA-201)

TASC is a multidisciplinary learning center designed to enrich the academic experience of MPC’s diverse student population through peer tutoring in historically difficult courses not covered by other learning centers. TASC promotes a culture that fosters collaboration, inclusion, and academic success for all students.

Math Learning Center (MLC) in Marina - Lobo Hub (MA-201)

The Math Learning Center provides free drop-in tutoring in mathematics to all MPC students taking a math (below 20A), science (no Physics 3) or CTE course involving mathematics.  The MLC is staffed by math instructors, instructional specialists, and student tutors.

Reading & Writing Center (RWC) in Marina - MA103

The Reading & Writing Center (RWC) offers free writing, research, ESL conversation practice, and computer assistance support.  Students must register for ENGL 400 to receive free tutoring services. The RWC provides reading support using techniques to help students remember and understand what they read. Additionally, the RWC teaches study strategies and assists non-native speakers with pronunciation.

STEM Tutoring & Study Center in Marina - (Online only)

STEM Tutoring & Study Center is a designated study space provided by MPC for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math students offering many resources to help students succeed. STEM Tutors are trained to assist with questions, direct studies, and help STEM students find access to support and resources to improve self-study, equipping them for success beyond MPC.  No need to enroll or sign up, the STEM tutoring center is free to drop-in (in Monterey) and online (Monterey or Marina) for studying in a peer supported environment!
