CLICK Apprenticeship Program Details

 

MPC is excited to introduce their new CLICK Apprenticeship program for Medical Assisting Students. The program combines paid on-the-job training while attending classes at MPC. This active learning opportunity includes 2000 hours in a medical office or clinic in addition to online coursework and in-person labs. The student apprentice will work alongside seasoned professionals who will actively participate in the training and education.

This flyer provides a high level overview of the requirements and eligibility process. This presentation gives a more comprehensive overview of the program. 

MPC’s CLICK Apprenticeship Program has been approved by California’s Division of Apprenticeship Standards. The program’s guidelines and standards are listed in this document.

CLICK Program Learning Outcomes

  • Perform safe, competent and responsible patient care and medical office procedures within the ethical and legal parameters of a medical assistant. (400 hours) CARE WITH CONSCIENCE
  • Locate, use and refer to credible professional and technical resources as needed in patient care and day-to-day office business. (400 hours) LOOK IT UP
  • Apply observation, adaptability, critical thinking and problem-solving techniques to continuously improve patient care, administrative operations and staff relations in the medical office. (400 hours) IMPROVE
  • Succinctly and accurately communicate and follow through with patients and members of the healthcare team using various modalities, including up-to-date computer technology. (400 hours) CLOSE THE LOOP
  • Implement efficient time-management techniques to ensure smooth patient flow in a medical office. (400 hours) KEEP THE ROOMS FULL

Students who are interested in the apprenticeship program must apply and be accepted in order to be considered for an apprenticeship placement.

Employer involvement is integral to the success of the program. Interested employers can review the employer regulations here.
