IMG_2503The Auto Tech Skills Lab provides students with the opportunity to practice their skills in a supervised setting that is representative of an auto repair facility. Students perform basic maintenance and light repair on customer vehicles.  The Auto Skills Lab is open every Friday afternoon during the fall and spring semesters (1-5pm).

To be eligible to have your vehicle serviced in the Auto Tech Skills Lab you must first make an appointment. To schedule an appointment please use our online form.  The information you provide on this form will be reviewed and a determination will be made if your request fits within the scope of the Auto Tech Skills Lab.

If it is determined that the service requested will be of benefit to the students, you will be given an appointment time. Appointments will only be scheduled for Fridays between 1pm and 5pm. If you cannot make the appointment time, please reschedule 24 hours in advance.

We are always looking for basic maintenance work (oil changes, tires rotations, inspections, etc...) We do also perform other types of service work.  Below is a list of the type of work that would be best suited for the Skills Lab. Each task has a suggested donation amount (approximately 1/4 the industry standard). Though there is no actual charge for the labor the students provide, we do encourage donations to be made to help fund our high achievement award; this award provides tool scholarships for our most deserving graduates.

Also, it should be noted that the Monterey Peninsula Community College District, its agents, employees, successors, and trustees are in no way liable for personal injury, death, or property damage arising out of, or in any way connected with the service, repair, maintenance of, or storage of vehicles in the auto tech skills lab.
