The Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee (CBOC) was established by the Monterey Peninsula Community College District Governing Board of Trustees in January 2021. The CBOC is charged with monitoring expenditures for Measure I, the College’s $145 million bond measure approved by voters in November 2002, and Measure V, the College’s $230 million bond measure approved by voters in November 2020. 

CBOC Composition and Qualification Standards

The CBOC shall consist of at least seven (7) members who represent the local business community, a senior citizen’s organization, a college support organization, a taxpayer’s organization, students, and the community at large. To be qualified, individuals must be at least 18 years of age, and may not be a District employee, official, vendor, contractor, or consultant.

Appointment of CBOC Members

Members are appointed by the Board of Trustees from written applications submitted to the District. 

Appointment Terms and Meeting Frequency

Initial appointments will be staggered; some of the initial appointees will be appointed to serve one full three-year term; other initial appointees will serve a two-year term. All members will be eligible for reappointment by the Board of Trustees for a second and third consecutive three-year term.

Meetings are held quarterly and are open to the public.

  1. review the CBOC Bylaws for more information about the CBOC’s role and responsibilities and

  2. submit a completed application to the District.
