The Humanities Division will present its annual Book Grant and Memorial Awards to outstanding students on Feb. 22 in the Almaden Room in the Student Center on the Monterey Campus. Students are nominated and selected for these awards by Division faculty in recognition of their exceptional effort, achievement and potential for future success in Humanities classes at MPC and beyond. Family and friends are welcome to attend, light refreshments will be served after the ceremony.

Recipients, who receive a framed award and a check intended to help pay for books, are nominated by Humanities Division faculty with whom they have worked in classes. Many of the awards are named in honor of previous faculty in the Division’s disciplines, which include English, Creative Writing, Critical Thinking, French, Journalism, Philosophy, Spanish, Spanish/Translation & Interpretation, and Speech/Communication.

 

The ceremony will also be streamed via Zoom, details are provided below.
