Student Health Services
Student Health Services fosters health and well-being delivered in a culturally competent and compassionate manner. MPC works in collaboration with Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula which provides an on-site Registered Nurse. Staff also includes a Health Specialist, Licensed Therapists, Psych Associates, Social Work students from Cal State Monterey Bay and a Medical Director - all providing a safe and confidential environment for our students.
Walk-in services are available and will be triaged appropriately:
- care for acute injuries and illness (first aid, evidence-based guidance, symptomatic treatment & referrals)
- over the counter medicine
- condoms
- pregnancy tests
- vital signs & blood pressure screening
- glucose screening
- health education materials
- student insurance information
- private lactation room for breastfeeding mothers
- assistance with COVID-19 vaccine appointments
- referrals to community medical & mental health resources when appropriate

Appointments are needed for the following services:
- COVID-19 PCR tests
- tuberculosis screenings (PPD)
- N95 mask fit tests for school program clinical rotations at CHOMP
- physical exams & spirometry tests for school program requirements
- mental health personal/couples counseling with a therapist
- wellness workshops & presentations
- confidential support & advocacy for survivors of sexual assault/domestic violence/stalking
- Registered Nurse on site for health consultations
- Physician available by appointment only
