Panel 1: Salinas Panel
Discussion of the history of the Voting Rights Act in the City of Salinas, including significant Chicana/o representation to critical elected positions throughout the county.
Panel 2: United Farm Workers Panel
Hear the voices of farm workers who struggled against great odds and won the right to have a voice through the electoral process and established union representation.
Panel 3: The Agricultural Labor Relations Board
After many years of labor conflict in the California fields and violence that brought deaths to many farm workers, the State of California passed the Agricultural Labor Relations Act. This law allowed farm workers to organize and establish union representation.
Panel 4: First Chicanas Elected to Public Office
Listen to the voices of those Chicanas who were elected and the challenges they faced as Chicanas.
