Our Voices, Our Lives
In honor of Black History Month, we invite you to join us for Our Voices, Our Lives, a spoken word event celebrating our Umoja community. This space for sharing, healing, reflection, respectful expression of emotion, and celebrating ourselves and our history.
Join us in Zoom on Wednesday, February 17 starting at 6:00 pm to support our speakers and celebrate our community.
Interested in sharing your poem or story?
We also invite you to create and share a poem or story with us. Pick a minimum of five words from the following list to include in the piece that you share:

We ask that you please submit your piece in advance to
umoja@mpc.edu. Also, if you write something but are a little hesitant to share in front of the group, we can make sure to have someone read it for you. Please just let us know if you’d like it to be anonymous.
