The Humanities Division will present its annual Book Grant and Memorial Awards to outstanding students on Feb. 27 in the Karas Room at the LTC. Students are nominated and selected for these awards by Division faculty in recognition of their exceptional effort, achievement and potential for future success in Humanities classes at MPC and beyond. MPC Governing Board Chair Yuri Anderson and Humanities Division Chair Dr. Anita Johnson will assist in award presentation. Light refreshments will be available.

Recipients, who receive a framed award and a check intended to help pay for books, are nominated by Division faculty with whom they have worked in classes. Many of the awards are named in honor of previous faculty in the Division’s disciplines, which include English, Creative Writing, Communications, Journalism, English as a Second Language (ESL), Humanities, Linguistics, Philosophy, Speech Communication, and World Languages.
