MPC Theatre Department Announces

Season Auditions!

Saturday July 20 & Monday July 22

Auditions for the 2019-2020 season will be held on Saturday, July 20th from 10-2pm and Monday, July 22nd from 6-9pm.

Frankenstein will be cast fully from these auditions. There will also be subsequent auditions for Superior Donuts, The New Works Festival, as well as The Importance of Being Earnest later in the season.

We have a wonderful collection of plays and a new work festival that explore the human mind, connection and spirit. Please join us on our journey through our 66th season as we examine the theme of Identity throughout our pieces.

FrankThumbFrankenstein (Morgan Stock Stage) by Nick Dear

Director: Teddy Eck
Performances: Oct 10th – 27th
Auditions: Full Season Auditions – July 20th & 22nd
Rehearsals: 9/3/19 – 10/27/19

Premiered at the National Theatre in London in 2011, this version is told through the Creature’s perspective and his struggle to understand humanity and the responsibility one has to create life.

Performances: Nov 21st – Dec 8

Rehearsals: 10/15/19-12/8/19

This award-winning comedy follows a young African American male who helps turn around the life, and donut shop, of a so called ‘former hippie.’ It is through their friendship that life, justice, and inspiration happens.

 

 


 

NWThumbNew Works Festival (Morgan Stock Stage)

Performances: March 5th – 15th
Auditions: Full Season Auditions – July 20th & 22nd
(additional auditions during the Fall season
)
Rehearsals: 1/24/20 – 3/15/20

This fully staged production will feature new short plays by the community as well as Seaside and Monterey High School.s The theme of exploration for this season is ‘Identity’.

 

 


 

EnrThe Importance of Being Earnest (Morgan Stock Stage) by Oscar Wilde

This classic “Comedy of Manners” features witty language, mistaken identity, elaborate costumes and, of course, cucumber sandwiches!
