Please join us on Wednesday, May 1st for the third lecture in our Sociology Graduate Student Symposium at MPC!
Please join us for our third Graduate Student Research Symposium - Uriel Serrano: ‘Finding Home’: Campus Racial Microclimates and Academic Homeplaces
Uriel's research is based on interviews and observations with Latino male students at a Hispanic Serving college, where he was interested in how young men felt among the spaces of their lives as students and citizens. This study bridges prior research on campus racial climates, and also introduces the concept of academic homeplaces, which are campus racial microclimates that foster a sense of community and affirmation.
Short discussion after the talk for interested participants.
We will have popcorn and other light snacks and drinks...
Hope to see you then.
