Led by Campus Pride, this 12 hour (1.5 day) workshop is designed for faculty, administrators, staff, and/or students and provides a foundation for creating a Safe Space campus program. Participants learn to create and conduct interactive Safe Space training workshops, receive model Safe Space training lesson plans, and learn a variety of activities and resources to support the safety and academic success of LGBTQ students. Learning outcomes for this highly interactive workshop include:
- Identify the essential components of a campus Safe Space Program.
- Understand the content of a Safe Space Training Program.
- Create a learning activity to be used in a Safe Space Training Program.
- Describe effective practices for creating an inclusive campus environment for LGBTQ students.
