Please join the Anthropology Club on the second and fourth Fridays of the month in SS-205. We hope to see you there!
Anthropology is the study of human beings, our origins, and the development of human societies, cultures and peoples. The Greek word Anthropos, meaning ‘human being’ and ology meaning ‘the study of’, is but a simple definition to the complex span of this ever-developing field of study. Our mission as a group, is to promote research, education, training and development in the realm of anthropology, and related cultural and historical topics.
We seek to integrate the educational experience of students with real life experience in cultural, physical, and archaeo humanities, through guest speakers, field work, lab work, museum trips, and related academic resources and possibilities. This includes social opportunities that will be attended by fellow students interested in similar topics. Being an active part of a club is not only good for your academic career but also a great way to make friends and connect with the greater community around you. ICC Club involvement is beneficial to all involved on social, academic and educational levels. We strive to provide you with access to experiences that can inspire you, move you to explore and better understand the beautiful wide world of humanity around you. When we can learn to understand the experience of others, we can more easily navigate the path to understanding our own experiences as human beings in the modern day.
