Find Our 21-Foot Ladder for Life's 21-Foot Challenges

Join us in the MPC Music Hall for our inspiring keynote speaker, as we wrap up Undocumented Student Week of Action at MPC! Dr. César A. Cruz is an internationally renowned poet, educator, scholar, and human rights activist. He has been an educator for 23 years, in positions of leadership for the last 17 years, and most recently is serving as the Dean of Secondary Schools Program at Harvard University.
He co-founded the independent school, Making Changes, out of his home and has sought to create autonomous educational spaces for the last four years. He has also overseen the Homies Empowerment Program, which serves gang impacted/involved youth in Oakland, CA. He is the author of two books, "Revenge of the Illegal Alien" and "Bang for Freedom."
Dr. Cruz received his doctorate in Educational Leadership at the Harvard Graduate School of Education, becoming the first Mexican immigrant male to do so. As the recipient of the Jefferson Award for Public Service, Dr. Cruz currently serves as a Bridge Fellow for the national organization The New Teacher Project and is on the advisory board of the education policy organization Broader Bolder Approach to Education.
