Check Out The Great American Eclipse!

The eclipse is being called the Great American Eclipse, and Monterey will have a partial view of it. The Astronomy department will have telescopes with solar filters as well as eclipse glasses available for use in viewing the eclipse. 

It's important to not look at the sun with just your eyes or sunglasses, since even the partly-eclipsed sunlight can damage your eyes permanently.
