Emergency Medical Responder Training

The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Training Program is your first step toward becoming a life-saving first responder in emergency situations. This comprehensive course is designed to provide participants with essential skills and knowledge to deliver immediate, critical care to patients in distress. Whether you're a first responder, law enforcement officer, or simply interested in entering the field of emergency medical services, this program will equip you with the tools needed to make a difference when every second counts.

Through a combination of expert-led instruction and hands-on training, you will learn how to assess patients, perform CPR, manage airways, and effectively use automated external defibrillators (AEDs). You’ll gain the confidence and practical experience needed to handle a variety of emergency situations, from medical crises to traumatic injuries.

This program emphasizes real-world scenarios, providing you with the knowledge and proficiency to respond quickly and competently in life-threatening situations. Upon completion, you will have gained a valuable foundation for anyone looking to pursue a rewarding career in emergency medical services, such as an EMT or paramedic, or to enhance their abilities as a first responder. You will also receive your CPR certification in this course!

Phlebotomy Technician Training

The Phlebotomy Technician Training program is an accelerated training course designed to combine classroom instruction with hands-on training in a medical laboratory to help you develop the highly technical skill of blood withdrawal.

What is included in the program:

84 hours of instruction
5 hours of CPR training
Externship opportunity

Upon successful completion of the classroom training, students will take the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam and be required to pass a drug and background screen prior to being placed in the externship portion of the program. Externship information:

Students must complete a 40-hour externship.
Externships are scheduled for one week, Monday-Friday (no nights or weekends).
Students will need to be available from 5-6 PM for that week only (specific schedule timeframe is determined by each externship site).

Once a student has successfully completed all program requirements, they are eligible to apply for the State of California CPT-1 License.

*Students are required to attend an information session prior to enrolling in a training program.

Refund & Credit Policy:

The MPC Continuing and Professional Education program reserves the right to cancel a class due to low enrollment. Students in classes that are cancelled by Continuing and Professional Education will be offered a full refund or a credit to their registration account.

Refund Policy for Professional Training/Healthcare Training Classes:

Refund requests will be honored if they are received at least 14 business days prior to the beginning of the class. There is a 10% service fee, subject to a $5 minimum. Students who withdraw after the first class meeting are no longer eligible for a refund, however students may request a credit that may be applied to a future class offering. *Please note, refunds and credits are not granted if a student has failed or was dropped from a training program for failure to meet program requirements.
