Art Camps

At MPC’s Jewelry and Metalwork Summer Camp, students discover the art of turning raw metal into original, wearable creations in a dynamic, hands-on studio environment.

Guided by an experienced instructor, campers learn the fundamentals of jewelry and metal arts through engaging projects that introduce basic fabrication, forming, and soldering techniques. Students work with professional tools while building a strong foundation in tool safety, craftsmanship, and creative problem-solving. Each project is designed to challenge their imagination, strengthen focus and patience, and build confidence as they see their ideas take shape in metal.

Whether a student is brand new to metalworking or already loves creating, they receive supportive, step-by-step instruction tailored to their skill level. Beyond technical skills, campers develop resilience, attention to detail, and pride in their work—skills that extend far beyond the studio.

The experience culminates in a celebratory gallery reception where students showcase their finished pieces for friends and family, highlighting both their artistic growth and the craftsmanship they’ve developed.

At MPC, students don’t just make small metal sculptures and jewelry —they gain hands-on skills, creative confidence, and the satisfaction of saying, “I made this.”

Camp Notes: For your camper’s safety in the Jewelry & Metal Arts Camp studio, please follow these dress guidelines:

  • Closed-toe shoes are required and must fully cover your feet to protect against hot metal, tools, and/or falling objects (no sandals or slides).
  • Wear sturdy clothing made of denim or cotton, as natural fibers are safer when working around heat and sparks.
  • Avoid spandex, leggings, or other tight synthetic fabrics, as they do not provide adequate protection in a studio environment.
