Dual Enrollment Students

High School student listens attentively in class

MPC's Dual Enrollment program allows students in grades 6-12 or those attending a noncredit or adult education high school diploma or equivalency program to take advanced college courses and earn credits while still in school. Through Traditional Dual Enrollment or the College & Career Access Pathway (CCAP), students can challenge themselves academically and get a head start on their education. These programs provide valuable experience and support to help students succeed.

MPC allows students in grades 6-12, who are at least 12 years of age, to enroll in advanced scholastic college courses numbered 1-199. Enrollment is limited to xx units per semester (Fall/Spring) and 7 units during the summer session. This type of Dual Enrollment is often known as Traditional Dual Enrollment. Students may also participate in College & Career Access Pathway (CCAP) courses through their local high schools. CCAP enrollment is limited to no more than 15.0 units (4 courses) per semester (Fall/Spring).

Traditional Dual Enrollment is granted with written approval from the school principal and parent/legal guardian prior to registering. Dual enrollment for 6-8th grade students need additional approval from the MPC Dean of Student Services.
