Satisfy Mandated Training Requirements
Learn to care for children from infancy through school age. Prepare to work with linguistically and culturally diverse groups of children in environments which require and meet Title 22 and Title 5 state education licensing codes and Child Development Permit Matrix.
Coursework satisfies requirements by California State Licensing and the Department of Education for family childcare providers and for all levels of children’s center teachers and directors, including Transitional Kindergarten (TK).
The Department participates in the Child Development Training Consortium and the California Mentor Project.
ECE Lab School = Real-world Training + Community Childcare
The MPC ECE Lab School is a fully-functioning preschool that performs a dual purpose for the campus community. The school provides:
- High-quality childcare for students, staff, faculty, and community families, including an outdoor learning environment
- An outstanding laboratory training experience for Early Childhood Education students, supervised by licensed and experienced staff
The school is operated under the auspices of MPC Student Services, and is licensed by the Department of Social Services for 96 children.
