The Math, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program is designed to help first-generation
STEM students transfer to their four-year university. As a whole, the program is part
of the MESA California Community College Programs (MCCP), a network comprising over
90 community colleges that support underserved students in transferring successfully
to a four-year university in STEM majors. Learn more about how MESA benefits nearly

REQUIREMENTS:
- U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, Dreamer, or DACA student
- Qualify for Need-Based Financial Aid (Pell Grant, BOGG A/B)
- First-Generation College Student
- Transfer-Bound to a 4-year College in a STEM Major
- Pursuing First Bachelor's Degree
- Declared STEM Major Requiring Calculus (e.g., Math, Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science)
Get the Most Out of MESA!
In order to get the most of what MESA has to offer, students are encouraged to:
- Enroll in 6+ units each semester, including appropriate STEM courses
- Meet MESA counselor/coordinator at least once per semester
- Attend Academic Excellence Workshops (AEW)
- Actively participate in MESA activities and & utilizing program resources like tutoring
- Maintain a competitive GPA (2.5+), and be committed to your studies
- Create a personal statement and resume
- Have an Educational Plan on file with Counseling
