Parking Permits
*Parking Notice as of May 2025: MPC is currently working to update the process for purchasing parking permits online through the new MyMPC Student Portal. During this transition, parking permits will be temporarily unavailable for purchase, and you will not be ticketed while the purchasing issue is being resolved. Thank you for your patience.
Permits are NOT required at the Public Safety Training Center in Seaside. MPC parking permits are no longer accepted at CSUMB.
Purchase Your Permit Today!
- You must be a registered student to purchase a parking permit.
- Purchase and pay for your permit online through the MyMPC Portal or in person at Fiscal Services (cash or check only).
- All permits will be mailed. Allow 7-10 days for mailing.

- Request a temporary permit
- Present proof of purchase of parking permit
- Present Student ID or California Drivers License / ID

Refund Deadlines
To receive a refund, all courses must be dropped by:
End of 2nd Week - Semester Courses; End of 3rd Class - Short–term Sessions
Permits must be returned to the Admissions and Records Office. No partial refunds will be given.
Parking Rules & Traffic Regulations
- Parking Permits Required: All vehicles must display a current permit or purchase a daily permit from a permit dispenser in the parking lot.
- Designated Parking: Park only in designated areas and marked stalls.
- Towing Risk: Unauthorized parking may result in vehicle towing at the owner's expense.
- Permit Display: Properly display current permits to avoid citation.
- Staff Parking: Staff spaces require a valid staff parking permit.
- Accessibility: Only vehicles with DMV-issued disability plates or placards may use disabled parking.
- Visitor Parking: Free 30-minute parking in designated spaces in Lot D (next to Student Services).
- Bicycle and Motor-Driven Bikes: Park in designated areas and walk bikes on campus.
- Speed Limit: Maintain a speed limit of 15 miles per hour on campus.

Citations:
- Violation of Rules will be subject to citation by MPC Security or Monterey Police.
- The vehicle owner is responsible for all citations. Citations must be cleared within 21 days and won't be voided on campus.
Payment Plan
- Those with multiple unpaid citations may file a request for monthly installments up to $25 for total amounts under $500.
- Unpaid penalties and fees must be paid within 24 months.
- Must request for payment plans within 120 days of violation notice or 10 days following the administrative hearing determination.
