Continuing Students

If Chapters 30, 1606, or 1607 apply to you, please review the information on Mandatory Monthly Verification of Attendance.

All continuing MPC students using education benefits must submit the following documents to the Veterans Resource Center:

  1. A comprehensive education plan must be on file in the VRC. Students must meet with an academic counselor before their second semester to develop a comprehensive education plan. All official transcripts (including military transcripts) must be sent to MPC's Admission and Records office before a comprehensive education plan can be created. Appointments to meet with a counselor can be made by calling the VRC at (831) 646-4025 or General Counseling at (831) 646-4020.
  2. Re-certification Form
  3. Deferment Contract
  4. Schedule of Classes *Note: VA will not pay tuition and fees for a class if it is not on a student's education plan

*For VA purposes, a continuing student at MPC is a student requesting to use VA education benefits for a second, or subsequent semester. If you have used VA benefits at another school, but not at MPC, OR if you have been enrolled at MPC for more than one semester, but this is your first semester using VA education benefits, please view New Students for requirements.

Guest Students

All courses must be approved by your Parent School prior to enrolling at MPC.

  1. Complete Application for Admission
  2. Submit transcripts and Prerequisite Verification Form to Counseling Department, if needed.
  3. Register for classes and print copy of registration receipt
  4. Submit the following forms to the MPC Veterans Resource Center Staff:
MPC Students Enrolling in Courses at Another School

You may attend another school as a “guest student” and have those courses approved for VA payment, but only if those courses apply to your program at MPC and are part of your Education Plan.

MPC students who plan to attend another school (Guest School) must meet with an MPC counselor to have the courses at the other school approved. The student must then complete a Parent School Letter Request Form (which includes the counselors approving signatures) and submit the form to the MPC Veterans Representative.

Mandatory Attendance Verification

At the end of each month, Chapter 30, 1606, 1607, & VRAP (Veterans Retraining Assistance Program) students are required to verify their current enrollment status with the Veterans Affairs Regional Office in Muskogee, Oklahoma before payment is issued.

Students are able to do so on the W.A.V.E. (Web Automated Verification of Enrollment) Website or by calling 1-877-823-2378

The monthly verification procedure is the responsibility of the student NOT the Veterans Affairs Office. Failure to complete the monthly verification process will result in a non-payment of benefits to the student.

*The MPC Veterans Resource Center is NOT part of the Department of Veterans Affairs—we may only interpret & administer VA regulations as applied to you at MPC.
