Step 1: Apply for Aid

Step 2: Verify Your GPA for Additional State Grant Eligibility

The Cal Grant program has limited state funding. To qualify, in addition to your FAFSA or CADAA form, you must submit your GPA.

Step 3: Check Progress via the Financial Aid Portal

Once you’ve applied for financial aid and admissions, check MPC’s Financial Aid Portal to see your student budget, financial aid awards, and requests for forms and further documentation to complete your file.

Application Details

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is the form used by the U.S. Department of Education to determine your Student Aid Index (SAI) by conducting a “need analysis” based on financial information, such as income, assets and other household information, which you will be asked to provide.

Eligibility Requirements:

In order to be eligible for federal financial aid grants, you must:

  • Be accepted at MPC for admission. Apply here if you haven’t already
  • Be enrolled in an eligible program leading to a degree
  • Be in good academic standing
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen
  • Have a valid social security number
  • Not be in default on any federal loan or in repayment of a federal grant
  • Have earned a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), or have passed the California High School Proficiency Exam (CHSPE)
