    Work Experience Education

    Earn college credits with a job, internship, or volunteer experience. Enroll in a Work Experience course to earn college units for your job, internship, or volunteer experience. All Work Experience courses are offered every semester. You will not find them listed in the semester class schedules. Your course will be designed specifically for your needs regarding dates and credit hours.

    Get Career-Ready With Career Academy

    Join Career Academy to align your major with career goals, gain market-ready skills, and access career support. Learn more about how to apply and the unique benefits available to members.

    Who Can Apply?

    Those eligible for Career Academy must:

    • Enroll in a minimum of 12 units for the 2023-2024 academic year (with reduced units for ARC students)
    • Have financial aid documentation for 2022-2023
    • Meet income criteria, such as California Promise Grant or Pell Grant eligibility.

    How to Apply

    1. Attend an Informational Session: You can schedule a Zoom, phone, or in-person session or watch the pre-recorded video to learn about program perks and expectations.
    2. Submit Application: Submit your application online by the priority deadline of December 15, 2023.
    3. Interview with Team: In mid-April, you will have a 15-minute interview with the Career Academy Team to determine fit.
    4. Attend Orientation: Join the official Kick-Off Orientation Event in August 2024 to meet peers and learn about activities.

    Benefits

    Advantages of being part of the Career Academy include: 

    • Enhance career readiness skills like resume writing and networking.
    • Eligible students may receive a $1500 stipend for financial support.
    • Dive into real-world experience with internships or work-study programs.
    • Earn college units through Work Experience.
