Monterey Peninsula College Invites Families to Free Family STEM Day November 7
MONTEREY, Calif. — Monterey Peninsula College will open its campus to families from throughout the region for Family STEM Day, a free community event on Saturday, November 7 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Monterey Peninsula College, 980 Fremont St., Monterey.
Designed for children and families of all ages, Family STEM Day will transform the MPC campus into an interactive destination for science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Families will have opportunities to build, discover, experiment and play through hands-on activities, demonstrations, games, arts and crafts and more. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome.
The event brings together Monterey Peninsula College faculty, departments and student groups alongside community organizations to give young people an opportunity to experience STEM outside of a traditional classroom setting.
Activities will include interactive experiments and demonstrations, hands-on learning stations, games, arts and crafts, a giant inflatable slide and live entertainment. Food trucks will also be on site with food and treats available for purchase.
Hands-On STEM at MPC
MPC departments, programs and clubs participating in Family STEM Day include:
- MPC Chemistry Department — hands-on activity
- MPC Earth Sciences Department — hands-on activity
- MPC Chemistry Club — hands-on activity
- MPC Math Department — hands-on activity
- MPC Biology/Marine Biology — hands-on activity
- MPC Little Lobos Academy — hands-on activity and informational booth
- MPC Continuing Education Office — informational booth
- MPC Nursing Department — informational booth
- MPC Kinesiology Department — informational booth
- MPC Library
Families will be able to move throughout the event, meet educators and students, participate in activities and learn more about the many ways STEM connects to everyday life, education and future careers.

Live Entertainment and Family Fun
Family STEM Day is designed to be more than a traditional science fair. In addition to educational activities and demonstrations, families can enjoy live entertainment, games, arts and crafts, a giant inflatable slide and other activities throughout the day.
