MPC Celebrates Major Milestone with Music Building Beam Signing Ceremony
Monterey Peninsula College marked an exciting milestone in the construction of our new Music Building with a Beam Signing Ceremony, celebrating the placement of the building's final structural beam.
Students, employees, trustees, community members, and project partners gathered for a brief ceremony before adding their signatures and messages to the final beam. Once signed, the beam was hoisted into place, symbolizing the progress of a project that will provide future generations of music students with an educational space to learn, create, and perform.
The beam signing tradition is a longstanding construction custom that recognizes the collective effort of everyone involved in bringing a new building to life. The signatures left on the beam will remain a permanent part of the structure, serving as a lasting reminder of the community that helped make the project possible.
