Program Overview

What does it mean to be a global citizen? As technology, media, trade, migration, and international challenges bring the world’s people into closer connection, the Global Studies program is designed to ensure students better understand  the processes and consequences of globalization. This program focuses on how the worldwide challenges we confront in the 21st century can be managed and resolved through the dedicated action of people around the globe working together.

Job Outlook

In an increasingly integrated world, there are numerous opportunities for those with a global perspective who are capable of analyzing information.  Many Global Studies graduates pursue careers related to world affairs, from joining non-governmental organizations at home and abroad to working for political campaigns and at every level of government. They also work as educators at schools and universities  throughout California and the United States.

Testimonials

Zachary Diaz

MPC taught me so many things: passion for the social sciences and humanities; the ability to write papers and articulate myself clearly; and the ability to learn, grow, and engage with a host of wonderful teachers, classmates, and staff. MPC prepared me to successfully transfer to my dream school, UCLA, and continue onto graduate school and my dream job.
