Program Overview

The Anthropology program examines human nature and tradition, human heritage, cultures past and present, and solutions to human problems. Courses introduce students to the fields of archaeology, biological anthropology, and cultural anthropology. Through diverse course offerings, the program prepares students to satisfy general education requirements and transfer into a four year college or university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in anthropology or a related major.

Job Outlook

The research, communication, and critical thinking skills developed in anthropology prepare students for a variety of career opportunities by emphasizing human diversity. Anthropology graduates commonly gravitate toward the sectors of academia, business, community service, government, and museums. In addition to research-based careers in anthropology and archaeology, graduates can pursue jobs in any number of growth areas, from social work to market research and beyond.
