Program Overview
Do you thrive under pressure? Do you have a passion for helping others? California fire departments now require emergency medical training for employment. MPC’s EMS with Fire Training program was designed to prepare students to enter the MPC Fire Academy. The EMS portion fulfills the requirement that applicants take an EMT class and prepares students to sit for the National Registry EMT exam, which they must pass before entering the academy. The Fire Training curriculum ensures students are physically prepared to enter the academy as well.
Job Outlook
Graduates are prepared to take the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician test required for professional accreditation, as well as the state psychomotor skills exam for EMTs. With these credentials, graduates have the option to pursue job opportunities as EMTs, although most move directly from this prerequisite program into full-time firefighter training through the fire academy.

The MPC EMT program helped me learn invaluable new skills as I work towards my fire service career. The instructors were informative, patient and knowledgeable. They offered a great mix of relevant anecdotes, lecture and hands-on learning. I highly recommend anyone interested in an EMS or related career take their EMT course here.
