Program Overview

Explore the many facets of real estate and build industry knowledge, whether to become a licensed real estate salesperson, lender, or appraiser, or for personal knowledge and growth. MPC’s Real Estate program provides the opportunity to study California real estate practices, basic principles, property management, finance, and appraisal.

Job Outlook

The National Association of Realtors recently surveyed why and how people decide to go into real estate. Nearly half said real estate was their second career and 34% stated it was their third. Flexible hours and a general interest in real estate, followed by working with people and being an entrepreneur, were the most attractive reasons for working in the industry. The most important skills for success were people skills, self-motivation, negotiation, and problem-solving.
