Program Overview
Nurses take care of the ill and injured and provide preventive care. Combining medical knowledge with compassion and customer service skills, nurses work in a variety of settings, from hospitals to health education. Ranked as one of the top five nursing programs in California, the Maurine Church Coburn School of Nursing (MCCSN) is approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing and accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Education in Nursing, and is a National Student Nurses’ Association “Stellar School.”Job Outlook
Thanks to overall population growth and increased demand from the aging Baby Boomer generation, the job outlook in nursing is robust. Hiring for registered nurses is projected to grow 16% statewide through 2026. Program graduates may immediately apply for licensing as a registered nurse, or go on to pursue further training for specialized roles such as nurse anesthetists, nurse practitioners, or midwives.

Ian Higuera
If you are looking for a truly great nursing school, look no further. MCCSN’s curriculum is finely tuned, down to the smallest detail. The education I received at MCCSN has built a solid foundation for me to become an effective, safe, and compassionate nurse.
Melissa Riner
The education and support I received at MCCSN were outstanding. Not only are the instructors fantastic, they are so supportive and truly help each student to succeed. The clinical experiences and rigorous lectures made me feel very well-prepared for the NCLEX-RN exam and for beginning practice as a registered nurse. I am so thankful for having graduated from such a wonderful program.
