Each year, the African American Faculty & Staff celebrate the special accomplishments of our Graduates and Transfers at the annual Rites of Passage Ceremony.  The Rites of Passage is a ritual event that marks a person's transition from one stage of life to another.

This year's 22nd Annual “Rites of Passage” Kente Celebration was held on Friday, May 26th, 2017 at Monterey Peninsula College. MPC welcomed back the accomplished and dedicated Ann Jealous, L.M.F.T. as this year's guest speaker.  Her heartfelt words of encouragement provided inspiration and  pragmatic guidance to this year's graduates and the audience members alike during this challenging era in our society.

The entire Rites of Passage Ceremony was video recorded and can be viewed as an embedded video here.

*This special event is sponsored by the Black Student Union, African American Faculty & Staff and EOPS department.
