On October 7, 2016, the negotiations teams for the Monterey Peninsula College Teachers Association and the Monterey Peninsula College met from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to review collective bargaining goals and procedures for this year.  The parties discussed the bargaining process and options for the parties in their next few meetings.

MPC and MPCTA have scheduled additional October negotiation sessions on October 28th, November 7th and 18th, and on December 5th and 13th.  A tentative date was also set on December 19th.

MPC firmly believes that the parties will reach agreement on specific and tangible improvements to the existing contract that will increase efficiency in the College’s operations, streamline administrative responsibilities, promote the highest and best use of resources and teaching expertise, and provide a salary increase to reward faculty for their teaching excellence and commitment to student success.
