On October 3, 2016, the negotiations teams for the Monterey Peninsula College Teachers Association and the Monterey Peninsula College met from 11:00 a.m. to 12:40 p.m. to discuss procedures for collective bargaining in the 2016-17 fiscal year.

New team members for both MPC and MPCTA were introduced, and the parties discussed their transition from an interest based bargaining model of negotiations to a traditional model of bargaining.  The parties also discussed ground rules for bargaining during the 2016-17 fiscal year.

MPC is confident that the parties will be able to reach agreement on mutually-agreeable terms that will recalibrate the College’s programs and operations to match the present needs of MPC’s students, staff, and faculty.

MPC and MPCTA have scheduled additional meetings on October 7th and October 28th.
